Overview

Ambassador Expectations

All ambassadors, upon accepting a role with our team, must agree to abide by the following guidelines and expectations.
  • We require each ambassador to submit a fully refundable deposit of $100 per person. Please send this as "friends and family" via PayPal, Venmo, CashApp, or ACH transfer. If you have issues regarding payment, please reach out to Kendra ( kendra@naughty-events.com ) or Tess ( tess@naughty-events.com ). We will send lodging information as soon as we receive payment. Submitting this deposit guarantees access to the event (convention pass) and the ability to choose your shifts. This deposit is due by June 3, 2024.
  • This deposit will be refunded at the end of the event if you attend all of your scheduled shifts, perform all duties as required, and comply with all expectations or if you cancel before June 3, 2024.
  • Ambassadors are suggested, but not required, to stay at one of the Host Hotels—the Astor Crowne Plaza on the corner of Canal and Bourbon or the NOPSI. We also have overflow hotels available, with more budget-friendly options. In a change from previous years, all ambassadors are welcome to find accommodations, including, but not limited to, Airbnb/VRBO, other hotels, their own homes, etc. If you choose to find other accommodations, please email Kendra or Tess the names of the ambassadors staying off-property.
  • Ambassadors are required to attend one (1) orientation meeting at the event. Please plan to attend the earliest orientation meeting before your first shift, except for set-up shifts.
  • Ambassadors will be provided with one shirt at their orientation meeting. This shirt must be worn on all shifts except set-up shifts. If additional shirts are needed, please get in touch with your shift supervisor.
  • Ambassadors must conduct themselves in a well-behaved manner at all times, even when not on shift. During shifts, ambassadors shall not be intoxicated (alcohol or any other substance). Whether on or off duty, please greet attendees with a smile, follow all general event guidelines, and do not fraternize with venue employees or staff. Failure to display proper behavior will result in a warning for the first issue and termination and responsibility for convention package payment for further issues.

Shift Requirements

In exchange for one convention pass, each ambassador must fulfill 20-24 hours of shift work. Shifts are, on average, 3-6 hours long, except Playroom floor shifts (2-3 hours).
Every ambassador must sign up for (2) playroom shifts at a minimum. Only one of the shifts may be during "Daytime Playtime."
During shifts, please wear your Naughty Events T-shirt, convention badge, comfortable shoes, and appropriate bottoms - no swimsuits, underwear, etc. For set-up shifts, please consider wearing close-toed shoes.

Event Software

To manage an event of the size of Naughty N'awlins, we use two main apps - Bloomerang and Sched. Both apps are mobile and Native Web Apps. We require each ambassador to have an account on both apps and log in periodically before the event to update information. During Naughty N'awlins, we will use these two apps for schedule management and staff communication. If there are announcements for all attendees during the event, the announcement will be posted on the Naughty Members site.
  • Bloomerang (formerly called InItLive) is a volunteer management software that helps us schedule, communicate, and coordinate all the ambassador elements.
  • Before the event, please use Bloomerang on the web for the best functionality.
  • In Bloomerang, all ambassadors can find and choose shifts, set their schedule, and check in and out of shifts when the app is in "live mode."
  • All ambassadors must format their profile name as follows: Legal First name (nickname, if applicable) and Legal Last name.
  • In Bloomerang, all ambassadors must upload a picture of their face as their profile picture. Please do not use renderings, full-body pictures, more than one person in a picture, logos, or any other type of picture that does not clearly show your face.
  • Sched is an event management app with agenda and tracking and is available to all attendees.
  • In Sched, all attendees (including ambassadors) can view the schedule of events, sponsors, artists, music offerings, educators, and social gatherings.
  • Attendees can designate their schedule by adding a session to their agenda.
  • For all announcements on-site, remind all participants that the Naughty Members Newsfeed is the place where information will be disseminated for all.
